I teach IB English A (Language & Literature) and spend most of my time on how essays are actually marked. I’ve taught in two international schools and I’m used to students who read plenty but freeze when it comes to analysis. We’ll work on Paper 1 commentary, HL essay planning, and tightening IAs with clean structure, quotes, and clear interpretation—plus quick feedback on drafts between sessions.

Maths is the thing I do every day. I tutor IB Maths AA (SL/HL) and I’m big on working from past-paper questions early, not just notes. Expect lots of whiteboard practice, quick checks for algebra slips, and targeted drills on functions, calculus, and stats. I also support Maths IA planning (a sensible topic, modelling, write-up, citations) and can sanity-check your graphs and calculations. Based in London; evenings online.

I’m Livia, an IB Biology tutor (SL/HL) with 8 years in classrooms and private tuition. My background is biomedical research, so we get comfortable with data, graphs, and the wording of command terms. Human physiology and genetics are my favourites, but I also teach ecology well. Based in Toronto, I help students design IAs that are realistic in a school lab (controls, variables, uncertainty) and then write them up properly.

IB Chemistry (SL/HL) is what I teach, full stop. I worked as an analytical chemist before moving into tutoring, so I’m used to explaining reactions in plain language and spotting where students slip on moles and units. We’ll cover stoichiometry, energetics, acids/bases, redox, and the harder exam-style calculations. Based in Dubai, I also help you shape an IA from a workable research question to evaluation and uncertainty tables.

Physics HL can feel like it’s written in another language. I tutor IB Physics (SL/HL) and I’m happy to slow it down and translate the markscheme logic. Most of my students come to me for mechanics, fields, and waves, plus Paper 1 speed practice. I’m based in Edinburgh and I’m into cycling and tinkering with sensors, so I like IA ideas with real measurements (not simulations). We’ll plan it, collect data sensibly, and present it cleanly.

Lessons are very diagram-heavy: when to label, how to evaluate, and what examiners reward in 10- and 15-mark answers. I keep a bank of real past-paper prompts, and we practise writing under time. For IAs, I help you pick articles that actually fit the rubric and turn them into tight, focused commentaries with real examples.

I tutor IB Psychology (SL/HL) and I’m a bit obsessed with research methods and ethics. If your SAQs are rambling or your ERQs don’t ‘hit’ the command term, we’ll sort that out with simple essay plans and better studies. I did my dissertation on memory and decision-making, so that’s my sweet spot. I also help plan a clean IA experiment (variables, consent forms, analysis) without overcomplicating it.

Before tutoring I was a junior developer, so we can talk code properly—Java/Python, OOP, and debugging, not just theory. I help students pick IA projects that are realistic (and finishable), set success criteria, and write the report in a way that matches the IB expectations. If you’re stuck on algorithms, pseudocode, or trace tables, we’ll grind through examples until it clicks. Based in Bristol, online.

I teach IB and used to run student enterprise projects in a bilingual school. We focus on applying tools (not memorising them), writing sharp analysis for Paper 1/2, and building an IA around a real organisation you can actually access. I’m happy working with financial statements, marketing data, and interviews, and I’ll push you to link recommendations back to evidence rather than opinions. Sessions are relaxed but structured.

Geography is my favourite subject to teach, and I tutor IB Geography. I’ve done fieldwork with schools on rivers and urban change, so I’m strong on IAs—sampling, maps, and turning raw data into something the IB likes. I also teach climate change and development really well, and I’m happy to show basic GIS/QGIS steps if you want them. For exams we practise case studies and the short-answer style that trips people up.
